Anyone that is good in addition method pleassse help me.....thank you

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

\[\large x+y=4 \]\[\large -2x+y=1\]

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

@Ty413 by addition method do you mean: solving the simultaneous equations by adding or subtracting them to get rid of 1 variable

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

? here you can subtract the second equation from the first and get rid of the y

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

@Ty413 are you there ? you need to respond so that i know whether or not u got it... :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YES IM HERE SORRY

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you just solve the problem

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

x-(-2x) = 3x y-y = 0 4-1 = 3 so subtract 2nd equation from 1st, we get: \[\Large 3x=3\]\[\implies \Large x=1\]

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

next plug x=1 in either equation to solve for y

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

\[\Large 1+y=4\]\[\implies\Large y=3\] so x=1, and y=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnk you soooo much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i might need more help on other math problems will u b around

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

sure... close this question and post a new one. ... if not me someone will respond

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk thnk u agin

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

u r welcome
