I solved this question, but i need someone to check my work, please :) Given the function f(x) = 2x + 4 find the value when x = -2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi, well i plugged in -2 and then eventually i got 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since 2(-2) equals -4 adding 4 would equal 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then f (-2) equals -2f dividing it would equal 2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = 2x + 4 Put x = -2 you get : f(-2) = 0.. So, f(-2) = 0 is the right answer...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you divid -2 to get f by itself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh no no Srosenfed we have to find f(-2) and not the value of f.. Always in case of function, we find f(x)...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh... okay i see it. Well thanks! i understand it :D

thanks hun. :)
