HELP!! "During the early 1800’s, America became a strong nation because . . ."
we industrialized
any more ideas
we also defeated the British in the War of 1812, and our political structure stabilized a bit.
I think BTaylor's first answer would be the strongest point.
Well, the problem with the first answer is that every other Western nation industrialized as well. There would have been no reason for the United States to become richer than they did. I would suggest the main reason has nothing to do with the United States, but rather with the fact that Europe was at that time locked into the titanic struggle of the Napoleonic Wars, which drained the wealth of Great Britain and France, and laid waste to a great deal of Germany and Austria. Simply because the United States was NOT wasting its resources and destroying its economic infrastructure (not to mention young men) in colossal wars, it becamse relatively richer.
the industrial revolution?!!?!?!?
also, we expanded significantly (ex, the Lousisiana Purchase) and that gave us a bit more power and land to settle
is the industrial revolution correct?
