2x-y=4 and I have to get y by itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Add y so you get 2x=4+y then subtract 4 so you get 2x-4=y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So y=2x-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait hmmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thank you :)

To make y the subject of the formula, you divide 2 to 4 on the other side of the equal sign. So you are left with x-y on the left side of the equation. So to make y in x-y, you take x on the right side of the equal sign so it will be 2 + x. So to make y positive, you divide 2+x by -1 so your final answer will be, 2+x/-1
