Can someone please simplify 3^3(square root) of 16?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be 27*4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 108

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

unless it's really \[\Large 3\sqrt[3]{16}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thats what i mean Jim

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Factor 16 into 8*2. Why this factorization? Because 8 is a perfect cube (since 8 = 2^3)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

From there, break up the root and simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 Wait I am confused what is the other option? What you typed just looks like brackets and slashes. For some reason that always happens to me on here.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

your javascript isn't working or something is blocking the math jax from turning what I wrote into LaTex mathdood

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what I wrote was "3 times the cube root of 16"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks I was wondering what that was about =). Ahh ic that should have been obvious haha thanks Jim .

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
