Partner Investment A $4300 B $7700 The amounts that two partners invested in a new business are given in the table above. If the partners share the profits in the same ratio as their investment, what is partner B's share in a $3600 profit? answers: $770 $1590 $2010 $2310 And how did you figure out this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Calculate the ratio of their investment, then use it to calculate the share in their profit, what the ratio of the investments?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh? I dont understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, this is how you would calculate the ratio of the investments A: B = 4300: 7700 , if you divide both values by 4300, you get A:B = 1: 1.79

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, I do understand that. but not further than that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To divide a number according to a certain ratio, u add the two sides of the ratio (i.e 1: 1.79 you add 1 and 1.79 to get 2.79) the divide the profit by this number (i.e 3600/2.79 = 1290) then A gets 1*1290 and B gets 1.79*1290 = 2310. hope you understand.
