why does anhydrous copper(ii) sulfate when heated becomes black solid? And what is the black solid?

Dear @amstro, When Copper Sulfate is heated, it decomposes to Copper Oxide which is black in color and Sulfur Tri-oxide at 650 degrees centigrade. With regards, @Arnab_Chatterjee
