Use complete sentences to explain how you would use graphing technology to find the solutions of 0 = −x^2 + 2.5x + 1. What do the solutions of 0 = −x^2 + 2.5x + 1 represent on the graph of the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take a look at your equation: 0=−x2+2.5x+1 This should look suspiciously similar to this: y=−x2+2.5x+1 The reason for that is that your equation is a special case of the one I just showed you, for the case of y = 0. But y=0 is the x-axis! That means that if you graph the equation, the points where the graph crosses the y-axis are the solutions to the equation.
