OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x + 3y = –7 4x – 2y = –10 why is the substitution method the best way to solve this?

OpenStudy (goformit100):

@ParthKohli

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lmao so do you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alrighty then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rather not i have work to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol @ rejection In other news: It isn't necessarily the best method. Best is subjective.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There really shouldn't be questions like this. Best varies from person to person. Is your question asking for anything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope thats just the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm.. Welllllllll. Can you BS an answer? There isn't an objective one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2 and 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = -2 and y =1 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait.... Did I misread? They're asking for solutions for \(x\) and \(y\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no but i solved it with substitution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. That's the solutions, yeah.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = -2, y = 1 yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it just asked why it was the best method to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because is short and in standard form. Just 2 equations with 2 variables i is done quick. If it was more then 2 equations and more than 2 variables then use some other method.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thanks
