Which arc is a major arc? I looked up some definitions but still can't get it, pic below.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know it has to have 3 letters in it, but thats about it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it can have 4 letters too i think

OpenStudy (amistre64):

are there options?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking psq

OpenStudy (amistre64):

we can rule out the options with lines over them and focus on the ones with arcs over them for starters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is psq.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and it looks like the direction from PSQ is longer then the direction to PQ

Find the area of the equilateral triangle. What about this one? I keep getting 9.2 and its not an option

OpenStudy (amistre64):

an arc is named for the direction you take to follow it; going from P to S to Q is a longer (a major) distance than going from P to Q directly

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what method are you trying to find the area with?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it might be a good idea to take this from a circle

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or .... i got anotyher idea lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In a circle, a 90° sector has area 36π ft2. What is the radius of the circle? Got the last one, lost on this one. What do I even do to set this up?
