Graphing anyone help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part 1) coordinates of point A (-5, -2) coordinates of point B (4 , -1) Distance formula = \[\sqrt{(x _{2} - x _{1})^{2} +(y _{2} - y _{1})^{2}}\] So your distance between A and B would be \[\sqrt{(-5 - 4)^{2} +(-2 + 1)^{2}}\] => \[\sqrt{(-9)^{2} +(-1)^{2}}\] => \[\sqrt{81 + 1}\] => \[\sqrt{82}\] or 9.05

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 9.05 would be the answer and it is already rounded to 2 decmial points?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

need help with tht one too please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part 2) Part 1) coordinates of point A ( -11, 4) coordinates of point B ( -8 , 8) Distance formula = \[\sqrt{(x _{2} - x _{1})^{2} +(y _{2} - y _{1})^{2}}\] So AB is 5 units ----------------------------------------------------------- coordinates of point C ( 3, 2) coordinates of point D ( 7 , -2) Distance formula = \[\sqrt{(x _{2} - x _{1})^{2} +(y _{2} - y _{1})^{2}}\] So CD is 10.7703 ----------------------------------------------------------- Divide length of CD by length of AB 10.7703/5 = 2.15406 rounded to 2 decimal places, this is 2.15 times longer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wait what are the answers for the first two graphs ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In order to calculate midpoint, \[Midpoint (x , y) = (x _{1} + x _{2})/2 , (y _{1} + y _{2})/2\] Midpoint = (12+ -4)/2 , (-7 + 7)/2 midpoint = (4 , 0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry there was a typo in the answer for part 2. Part 1) 9.05 part 2) 2.15 part 3) 4 , 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these too please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give me two mins please :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ight

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would 1png aswer be (4.5,2) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For 2.png, when you have to calculate the midpoint of TS, Midpoint(x,y)=(x1+x2)/2,(y1+y2)/2 Midpoint = (-6+ 3)/2 , (-4 + 2)/2 midpoint = (-1.5 , -1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry can't think about how to solve 1.png now. I know how to, can't remember :/
