Anyone can help me with any of these : http://media.ccsdde.net/aventa/Geometry/GEOMx-HS-A09/a/unit03/resources/docs/WritingEquations_WritingAssignment.pdf
do you have an idea?
let me give you a hint.. pick 2 points
hmm you there @guccimayne ?
HUh?
give me two points on the line
name two points...hint..x-intercept and y-intercept
(3,-3)
(0,-2)
(-3,-1)
im not that stupid i no what points are .
well that's good...let's use (0,-2) and (3,-3) and you said huh so i rephrased the question let's use the equation \[\huge y - y_1 = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1} (x - x_1)\] you're familiar with that right? two-point form?
yeah because you where like do you have any idea ... ill give you a hint.. acting like im stupid .
i was only asking if you have an idea so i can start from where you are getting confused...i wouldnt want to blindly solve this not knowing where you're getting confused right ^_^
okay just making sure
do i just pick two point from the graph and write is at equastion and that would be the answer?
you pick two points then you substitute the values nto the equation i said above \[y - y_1 = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1} (x-x_1)\] we picked (0,-2) and (3,-3) so if we substitute we get \[y - (-2) = \frac{-3 - (-2)}{3-0} (x - 0)\] then we simplify \[y + 2 = \frac{-5}{3} x\] then we change it into the form y = mx + b so we'll get \[y = -\frac53 x - 2\] was that clear?
i may have said some unclear steps..if so please let me know :)
