can somebody help me with an integral ill post it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\int\limits_{}^{}x^3\div \sqrt{4+x^2} dx\]

OpenStudy (beginnersmind):

Have you tried the substitution u = x^2+4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah du would just be 2xdx and it wouldnt work

OpenStudy (beginnersmind):

why? You're left with x^2, which is just u-4. So we have (u-4)/sqrt(u) du.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the derivative of x^2+4 is 2xdx not x^2dx so that wouldnt work
