calculate the internal resistance of the battery? (circuit unhooked) EMF directly across the batt = 1.537 resistance = 5.3 ohms Voltage= 1.40 V current= .162 amps. using a 1.5 Volts battery. Can someone help please!!!!! :) thanx

@skhanal could you better explain your data ?
\[EMF =I ( R +Ri)\) there for answer is 0.85 ohms
\[V=\epsilon-IR\] => 1.537-0.162R=1.40 R=0.85 OHMS
\[V=E-IR \] V=1.4 V voltage across the battery I=0.162 current produced from the battery R=? it's the internal resistance of the battery E= 1.537V it's the EMF of the battery without the voltage drop on the internal resistance R=0.845 A
