which has more energy a photon in the infrared or one in the ultra violet ? give reason.

OpenStudy (kropot72):

A photon is a quantum of electromagnetic radiation with energy E in electron-volts given by the equation \[E=hv\] where h is Planck's constant and v is the frequency of the radiation. The energy of a photon is therefore proportional to the frequency of the radiation. The frequency of ultra-violet radiation with the longest wavelength is about double the frequency of infra-red radiation with the shortest wavelength. Therefore the energy of an infra-red photon is at least double the energy of an infra-red photon.
