If C = {integers divisible by 2 from 1 to 12} and D = {integers divisible by 4 from 1 to 16}, what is C ∩ D?

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Intersection is basically the same as "and".

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

take the description of C and D, just add "and" like this C ∩ D = {x | x is an integer divisible by 2 from 1 to 12 AND x is an integer divisible by 4 from 1 to 16} Like that :)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

So all elements of C ∩ D would have to satisfy being in C AND being in D, do you get it? (I can explain in a different approach, if you wish :) )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um... im starting to get it... i think

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Just give me a ring if you run into some difficulties, yeah? :D Cheers
