Acid/base, precipitation, redox, or none: 1. Ba(ClO3)2(s) ----> BaCl2(s) + 3O2(g) 2. CaO(s) +CO2(g) ----> CaCO3(s)

@stephstar101

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

First what's your guess on these?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

both redox

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

First one is redox, but the second is probably none. You can try your answers, however

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm it's right.. :D however..i got one wrong..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are 5 balanced equations in this problem, i did the other 3 and ask you these 2.

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

Which answers were correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the one i got wrong is: 2NaCl(aq) +K2S(aq)----> Na2S(aq) +2KCl(aq)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are both correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the other one that i didn't post, i got wrong..and that's the one i just posted above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i put "precipitation" on that one and it's wrong? wth o_o

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

It doesn't have a precipitate and it's not redox...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm...then it's also not acid

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

Well, you have fun with that question, and I'm off to bed. Later!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks !
