OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what's the difference between ion-dipole and ion-induced dipole alsso dipole-induced dipole and dipole-dipole?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well dipole-dipole is the intromelecular force that holds molecules next to each other. dipole diple happens between polar molecules.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what's the difference with the terms you said o.O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nothing they are the same term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ion-dipole interaction is between an ion and a dipole ion-induced dipole interaction is between an ion and a non-polar molecule(the non-polar molecule becomes a dipole because of the ion, here) similarly for dd and d ind d interactions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also ion dipole interactions are stronger than ion induced dipole interactions

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

could you give an example of those events? just for me to get the idea of how it looks like...i mean just examples of the molecules

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dipole dipole int eg HF |dw:1343548212362:dw| Dipole induced dipole int eg HF in I\[I{2}^{}\] |dw:1343548271970:dw|
