Multiply (5-3i)(6+4i) I'm still stuck on how to work this. i= sqrt -1 so... (5-3(sqrt-1)(6+4(sqrt-1))

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

i don't recommend replacing i with sqrt(-1) ....it just gets messy leave it in terms of "i" but whenever you get i^2 , replace it with -1

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[(5-3i)(6+4i)\]\[=(5\times6)+(-3i\times6)+(5\times4i)+(-3i\times4i)\]

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[=(5\times6)+(-3\times6+5\times4)i+(-3\times4)i^2\] \[=(5\times6+3\times4)+(-3\times6+5\times4)i\]
