A 30 kg child rides on a circus ferris wheel that takes her around a vertical circular path with a radius of 20 m every 22 s. What is the magnitude in N of the resultant force on the child at the highest point on this trajectory? So I use the formula N = mv^2/r Velocity = 2pi(20)/22 N = (2pi(20)/22)^2(30)/22 This keeps giving me the incorrect answer can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
whats the answer? might be able to help..
your last step: \[N = (2\pi(20)/22)^2 (30)/22\], check that again, specifically the last number
I dont know the answer for sure I'm pretty sure it is 49, oh the radius should be 20 blah
nvm its wrong even if I do change 22 to 20
a. 49 b. 250 c. 340 d. 290 e. 760
hmm.. well thats a shame, i didnt have any of them answers haha what i was taught, or what i learnt was that at the top of the circle, the only force pulling it towards the centre is W = m x g. So if you apply that, you get 294.. which isnt an option, whoops ;(
yeah I have no idea what I'm doing wrong wolfram previews 49 but when I hit answer it gives me a totally different answer so i dont know whats up
you broke physics Australopithecus haha
