Is 4x^2-17x+15 a prime polynomial?

Are you familiar with the discriminant formula?
No
If you have a quadratic in the form ax^2 + bx + c, then the discriminant D is D = b^2 - 4ac
If the discrminant is a positive perfect square, then you can factor the original expression. If not, then you can't factor it and it's prime.
so it is a prime becuase you cant cut 15 in hoalf with out getting a decimal in there. so prime.

a is 2x b is 7.5 but i dont know c

compare ax^2 + bx + c to 4x^2-17x+15 we can see that a = 4, b = -17 and c = 15
i see what @jim_thompson5910 is saying
discriminant= b² − 4ac
