find the limit: lim f(x) f(x)=x^2+2, x doesn't=1 x-->1 1, x=1

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

plug in 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to x^2 +2?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

err \[\lim_{x \rightarrow 1} x^2+2\]

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

is that the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

yes because we have no problems with the domain you can plug in 1 and you will get the answer....3

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

note: if we would have had this \[\lim_{x \rightarrow 1} \frac{ x^2 }{ 1-x }\] then you could not just "plug in" one because then you would be deviding by 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok THANKS. :)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):
