\[\huge \frac 4{(x-4)^2} = 1\] cross multiply first...what do you get?
\[4=(x-4)^2\]
right. now take the square root of both sides
Got it, x=6?
hmm not quite...remember \[\sqrt 4 \implies \pm 2\]

so you need to have TWO values..make sense?
x = 6 is right. However, it's just one of the two. what's the other?
x=-6
no.. \[4 = (x-4)^2\] if you take the square root of both sides you have \[\pm 2 = x - 4\] so.. solve for x in \[x-4 = 2\] AND \[x - 4 = -2\] got it?
OH. So, x= 6; 2. THANKS!
