3[2-4(2x-1)] =4x-10 step one??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

open brackets times 4 into (2x-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do I carry the negative also? @nphuongsun93

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes my bad (-4)*2x + (-4)*(-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then I multiply the 3 to 2-8x+4 ?? @nphuongsun93

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, simplify 2 - 8x + 4 into 6 - 8x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, I have -24x+18 = 4x-10 do i divide the 4x or can i only divide the 4?? @nphuongsun93

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no if you divide you have to divide everything (-24x, 18, 4x, -10) bring the x (-24x and 4x) to one side and the numbers (18, -10) to the other side by +, -

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i just subtract the 4x then? @nphuongsun93 sorry thanks for your patience

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha np -24x+18 = 4x-10 and yes, do subtract 4x both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you! @nphuongsun93
