A 118.63 g sample of SrCl2·6H2O was heated and 34.81 grams of water were recovered from the sample. What percent of the original H2O remains in the sample following this heating?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find % of water by mass for the sample Find % of water in your sample after boiling Subtract to find the answer (remains)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i first do 34.81 x 1mol H2O/ mw H2O x 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm thats for after.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know how to set a problem to find the 1st part..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You take the mass of the water in the original formula divided by the total molecular mass So mass of (6 H2O)/(Sr Cl2 6 H2O)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you get how to do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't really get what the question is saying
