Help !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve for x

hartnn (hartnn):

subtract 3y from both sides...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean?? its a linear function, a straight line graph.

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

solve for x means they want to see something that says "x = ________"

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

once you get to that point, you can then see IF there is anythign else you can do

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

the way to get x by itself and x= is to subtract 3y from both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get that, i'm in the ib. so all you want is x = 15 - 3y ??

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

yes.

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

BUT

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

yes but its good practice to put numbers attached to variable before numbers alone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just need a answer

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

x = -3y + 15

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

OR

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the same thing, you know.

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

x = -3(y + 5)

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

it means the same thing but its not in the correct mathematical order. equations shoudl look something like this X^5 + x^4 + X^2 + X + #

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

in order by exponential degree

OpenStudy (jwheele1):

anyways its just for reference and you dont have to take the advice if you dont want to
