Sound waves are actually disturbances in the pressure values of a gas or material medium. Since space has no medium, sound waves cannot propagate in space

The universe as observed from the earth, is isotropically expanding outward. Stars are organized into galaxies. Planets orbit stars

The sound waves are longitudinal in nature so they require a material medium to move from one point to another. The space beyond any celestial body and its atmosphere is vaccum. No medium hence no point of space travel for sound waves
