P(-d
Divide 0.5408 by 2. Then use the resulting value of probability to find the value of z from the standardised normal distribution table. z = d.
divide 0.5408 by 2 check the number on both positive and negative z table 0.5408/2 =0.2704
by the way tables they are not all same but they have different techniques to find the same answer
thank you!!!
u r welcom
I have another question! could you guys help? @REMAINDER @kropot72
yes
a county has been experiencing a mean of 35.3 motor vehicle deaths each year. whats the probability of more than two motor vehicle deaths on any given day
btw I am not getting the right answer with dividing by two with the previous question
wat do u get
okay so is p(-d<z<d) = .5408 and divide by two thats .2704 and i looked on the chart and it gives me -.61 but the answer is .74 so how do they get that
did 'nt they gave u a standad deviation ?for the second question
nope
this is what it says.
the standard distribution = \[\sqrt{mean}\]
the formula is given. P(x) = \[\frac{ mean ^{x} \times e^{-mean} }{ x! }\]
and if it asks for more than 2, then that would be P(a) = 1-complement of p(a) so 1- [p(0) +p(1)+p(2)] but the answer isnt right.
oh this is poisson
yes lol myyyyy bad
this was a question from last chapter.
i also don't get their answer ok @zarkon even if he is offline but he will find lets hope he will solve it because most of my stats question have been answered by him.
ok thanks
lets try that one of d again
okay so theres two different problems. a. if P(-d<z<d) = .5408, find d b. if P(-e<z<e) = .2586, find e
yes the first one is o.74 check this |dw:1348775161188:dw|\ and on the table 0.7704 is 0.74
