jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Did you get anywhere with this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no not at all lol

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

ok think of \[\Large \sqrt[4]{3}\] as 'x' and \[\Large \sqrt[3]{3}\] as 'y'

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so the expression then becomes 3x - 8y + 5x + 4y

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Simplify 3x - 8y + 5x + 4y and then replace 'x' and 'y' with \[\Large \sqrt[4]{3}\] and \[\Large \sqrt[3]{3}\]
