No it's not proper to write it like that. It really depends on your teacher though. Most won't make a big deal out of it. :)

Infinity is not an actual value. It's just not proper to write it like that. It really doesn't matter though. Especially on homework and stuff, don't worry about it. Just be aware of whether or not your teacher has a problem with it. They probably won't care though. c:

The "lazy eight" symbol 00 (infinity) appears in limit problems such as the one you posted. When I see 00, I think "increases without bound." See attached file. @artofspeed
