0.42 - 0.03y = 3.33 - y I don't know how to do this correctly.

OpenStudy (nubeer):

just take the the terms with "y" on one side and the terms without y put it on the other side of equal and do the algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I add 0.03y to both sides canceling out the left. What happens to the y on the right? is it now 0.04y? is it 1.03y?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

it's \[-1y+0.03y\] so you are subtracting -1 from 0.03 \[-(1-0.03)y\]

OpenStudy (nubeer):

no .. add 0.03 on right side. -y + 0 .03 y =?

I'm so tired my brain can't discern the differences between addition, subtraction, division and multiplication... I'm going to sleep. Thanks for the help everyone.

OpenStudy (nubeer):

ok then have a good rest :)

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@JamesR4494 take rest, and we'll discuss this problem when you are back :)
