show in negative exponent: 2/a

OpenStudy (turingtest):

\[a^{-b}=\frac1{a^b}\]

OpenStudy (turingtest):

what is the exponent on a? that is your b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no exponent on a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simple as I told you.. invert it.. it will be (a/2)^-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hm..it's saying its wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not its not.. (a/2)^-1 is in negative exponent.. you can further expand it like.. (a^-1)/(2^-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if question is to show it in negative exponent then my answer is perfectly all right..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer was 2 x a^-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it means that it was to show only "a" in negative exponent.. not the whole value..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It just said show the question in a negative value, idk :s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can solve it like... (2/a) = 2x (1/a) when you'll invert "a" you'll get that answer.. 2x(a)^-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, ty i have 2 more questions
