Ok, do you feel like simplifying that or using product rule?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, you got a binomial times a trinomial, shouldn't be too hard. Do that first and let me know what you get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you differentiate already?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, then that's close; should actually be -5x^4 -6x^2 +2x -1

You'll need the slope; you get that from plugging in the x coordinate of your point into that first derivative. Then you'll have the slope and a point on the line and can use y-f(a)=f'(a)(x-a) to get the line. (a = 1, f(a) = -2)

Yep. You got it!
