Help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Consider the functions f(x) = 3x2 and g(x) = 2(x + 9). Find f[g(−7)]. Please show all of your work for full credit.

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

First find g(-7). To do that put -7 in place of x in g(x). Can u plz tell me vat u get @xcarleighxs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ajprincess I got g(x) = 4 I did. g(x) = 2(x +9) x = -7 so -7 plus 9 equals 2 Then 2 times two equals 4

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

ya perfect:)

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

Nw to find f(g(-7)) put 4 in place of x in f(x). Can u do it @xcarleighxs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep @ajprincess I did F(x)= 3x^2 x = 4 so 4^2 Is 4 x 4 which comes out to be 16 and 3 times 16 equals 48/ is that correct?

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

ya perfect:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then to get the final answer. I do F divided by G?

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

u are asked to find f(g(-7)) right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup @ajprincess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well to find this f[g(−7)]

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

Then that's vat u hav found by putting 4 in place of x in f(x).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay!

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

To find F(g(-7)) u hav to find g(-7) and then substitute that value in place of x in f(x).

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

getting it @xcarleighxs?
