Could someone help me with this problem? Solve the polynomial inequality and express the solution set in interval notation. y^2 + 3y < or = 1

You set the equation equal to zero, then you solve it like a trinomial. y^2 + 3y - 1 ≤ 0 Then you test the two answers you get with the inequality. With this problem its weird decimals for the answer :P its like [-3.302, .302] ^ Thats your answer

I'm not sure what you mean by by solve it like a trinomial? I got stuck when I was trying to put it into factored form...
