DuBois wanted liberal arts while Booker T. wanted vocational training. Booker T. wanted African American's to attend trade schools like the Tuskegee Institute in order to attain economic equality with Caucasian America before seeking social equality. DuBois believed firmly that African Americans needed preachers, teachers and philosophers that were also African American, so he advocated a more liberal arts education. He also denounced Booker T. Washington as a "coward" which i find humorous
