Graph the points for Line AB and Line CD A(8, 4), B(4, 3), C(4, -9), D(2, -1) Is the measure perpendicular, parallel, or neither? My answer is perpendicular according to the slope formula but when you graph it, it's different. There's no intersection. Help please?

make intersecting lines on a graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean i should draw it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you have to draw it and then mark the spots. that is the only way we can tell what the lines look like.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1349305969471:dw| This is how the graph looks like, but perpendicular lines have intersection points, this one doesn't. And according to how I solved it (twice) with the slope formula, it's a perpendicular line. But in the graph it shows like this.

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

If the lines look like that then they would intersect perpendicularly. So i think you are right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, so you're saying they WILL intersect?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Geometry_Hater

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

They're lines right? So they would go on forever.....Eventually intersecting at some point unless of course they are parallel.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH LOL I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT '-' Thanks! XD
