Someone walk though simplifying this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where's the prob???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(t-7+3y) - (2-y+t)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so you're going to distribute the - sign to (2-y+t)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

therefore multiplying with -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be -2+y-t. How do I fit that with the rest of the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so the equation will now be t-7+3y-2+y-t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the equation is t-7+3y-2+y+t? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes good job :) now you're going to combine like terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t-7+3y-2+y-t like this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahhh! Thank you! I wasn't sure if that was right or not. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay no problem :) just combine like terms and you'll get your answer
