What factor explains why tundra biomes remain cold year-round but taiga biomes have alternating warm and cold seasons?  (1 point)

I think it might be to do with how far North each of these biomes is - the heat of the sun is less in the North in winter because the Earth spins at an angle, rather than perpendicular to the plane of the solar system. The Northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun in winter, giving shorter days in the extreme North. You can see what I mean here:
