The phase change in which a substance changes from a gas directly to a solid is _____. I do believe it's Deposition, unless I'm getting confused with a gas to a liquid?
Gas to liquid is condensation (like on the side of your lemonaide glass!) Deposition skips liquid (who needs 'em?) and is a change from gas to solid.
the answer is sublimation
Sublimation is solid to gas. Dry ice sublimates.
it is the same for gas to solid.....
it is also called deposition in some books...
Desublimation is another term for deposition. I guess there is still some ambiguity here.
It's debatable. I essentially believe the answer is deposition, but thank you @Harkirat, for your insight.
Even in science sometimes they leave ambiguities....I feel "reverse sublimation" should be the correct name that they should coin.....☺
The answer is NOT condensation.
