mx+4y=3c, for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to get \(x\) on its own, so first we need to get rid of that 4y from the left hand side. To do this, subtract 4y from both sides: \[mx=3c-4y\] Now we have \(mx\), but me want just \(x\). \(x\) is being multiplied by \(m\), so we should divide both sides by \(m\): \[x=\frac{3c-4y}{m}\] Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (swag):

x=-4y/m+3c/m
