what is the scale of this map? http://moourl.com/mapone
Are you talking about the actual scale thingy if you zoom in a little bit you can see it.
i mean like 1:? how many miles is an inch?
To find the scale find out the real length and measure the same on ur map. the scale is the ratio of the two
@Geometry_Hater the real length of florida? :/
but i can't figure out what the first map scale is
That's a tough one. I'm not sure what how many inches equal miles on the first one, but the left hand side describing the stats for the map has the RF scale of the map set as this: 1:1,100,000
yea, i saw that too......but i know for a fact that florida is not millions of miles long lol
lol, that's true! Actually, the RF scale just means that for every, say, inch on the map, it equals 1,100,000 inches in real life. Not sure how that can translate back to the kind of scale you are looking for, though, sorry...
wel, i guess i have to find out how many inches are in a mile?
well*
Are you looking for the real length of Florida?
no, i'm just looking for the scale of the map :/ it's for human geography
1:17.4!
You got it?
1 mile = 63360 inches. 1100000 inches = about 17.4 miles
does that sound right?
I was about to say that it looks like you found your answer. That's what I was going to do next. Nice job!
and it would make sense because the second map has a scale of 1:18
thanks for helping! i had no idea what the scale thing on the left meant
Glad I could help out!
