If acceleration time graph is a straightline with -ve slope.....Explain the meaning

OpenStudy (kainui):

Literally, what is acceleration? What's velocity? What's position? Well, let's work our way up. Velocity is a change in position. So for instance, a negative slope linear graph would mean that the object is slowing down over time. |dw:1349495202278:dw| So here we see that the velocity at A is pretty big. A little further on, the object is going slower at B then C. So now let's talk about acceleration. Completely new scenario like the one you're describing now. |dw:1349495338902:dw| So what's going on at point A? It looks like the beginning of out trip since time = 0 almost. We're accelerating really fast, so at this point we're increasing our velocity a lot. Now at B we've still got a positive acceleration. That means we're STILL speeding up! But, we're not speeding up as much as we were in A. Once that acceleration line hits 0 that means we're not accelerating at all. But just because you're not accelerating doesn't mean you're still not going fast since you were going faster and faster all the way from t=0 to your final time!

@Kainui you must be a professor of physics.i cant have seen a better explaination than that in physics..!

Thanks, I'm really just a biochemistry student in college, but I'm a volunteer physics and calculus tutor at my school in my spare time for fun. =D
