OpenStudy (aripotta):

what could this map be used for?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

OpenStudy (aripotta):

this is what i have for information the can be gathered: What the systems of roads and rivers in Rome look like and locations of national forests but i need to know possible uses. it's not detailed enough for a tourist map...

OpenStudy (aripotta):

that can be gathered*

OpenStudy (aripotta):

if there's other information that can be gathered, let me know please :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It does tell you famous locations, and route numbers (i think- those blue rectangles with numbers on them)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

oh those rectangles are famous locations? i didn't know that..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, the rectangles are route numbers or roads, but it gives you national parks, airports, etc...

OpenStudy (aripotta):

so it could be used as a tourist map? i'm so confused :c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also gives water ways...

OpenStudy (aripotta):

right, i mentioned that in the gathered information...could people use that to see how water affects the lives of people how live there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess, to an extent but here a better tourist map- http://www.wikiveler.com/europe/italy/lazio/rome/images/rome-map-large.jpg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a few roads actually follow the water.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this for your own benefit or for a project?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

project for human geo

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i picked the maps :x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK, so i thought it was for your own benefit- anyways, if you noticed, there is a big orange circle going around the capital,

OpenStudy (aripotta):

right, i figured that was a road

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is probably a major road.....and soooo..... (would do you think?)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

ehh. it's a highly used road...because it goes around the entire city...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

annd, something that i know is that in ancient rome, there were always roads that led out of their forums...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is an example. http://www.christusrex.org/www1/ofm/pilgr/bord/pcts/10Roads.gif

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you could probably say that this road probably came from a forum ( I don't know if there was a forum in the center of the orange center)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

so that's why you would use the map? to interpret the reasoning behind the roadways?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you'll need to do a little more research on what was there and what is still there....does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea, i guess, many road ways are paved because it was used for a ling time, and still need to be used

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i have to do this for 4 maps. 1 local, 1 state/province, 1 country/continent, and 1 global. i have to state what information can be gathered, what information is missing, and what the map can be used for

OpenStudy (aripotta):

the map i posted is my province map

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, the thing about the roads could be 'what info i could be goatherd'

OpenStudy (aripotta):

this is my local map (i chose the colosseum) info that can be gathered: How to get to the Colosseum, which roads to take, which side of the road to drive on, and locations of shops and trams info missing: Which state/province, country, and continent the region of the map is located and a legend how it can be used: A tourist map because it shows how to get to a landmark, the nearest hotels/restaurants, and a means of transportation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, that all makes sense.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

and this is what i have so far for the map i posted previously info that can be gathered: What the systems of roads and rivers in Rome look like and locations of national forests and air ports info missing: Toponyms of roads, rivers, and buildings and a legend how it can be used: .....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't really know if you want to add my road thing or not, i thought it would be more based on context.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i don't know though, he didn't give me an example of what to do. i just figured i was doing it right :/

OpenStudy (aripotta):

and i still have two other maps! :O

OpenStudy (aripotta):

and then i have to make a brochure!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so you are doing a touristy thing. so do what you have so far, about the roads and restarants and stuff, and for the brochure, use you map, and pick a restaurant, and describe it (or use a national land mark.)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

well, i have to answer those three "questions" for each of the 4 maps, and then do a "creative project" it doesn't have to be a brochure, but that was one of the choices

OpenStudy (aripotta):

1. Create a tourist poster or brochure that includes two descriptions of relative location that would appeal to tourists. 2. Write a short paragraph for a newspaper or magazine article that includes two descriptions of relative location that help explain the population or economy of the area. 3.Create a two to three minute audio, podcast, or video that includes two descriptions of relative location that would appeal to tourists.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i only have to one of those, but i must do the questions for each map

OpenStudy (aripotta):

btw, i really appreciate you helping me! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what if you make a poster heres an idea....|dw:1349549130520:dw|
