there's problem a general expression for the sum, don't know what exactly it is, but it's easy enough to see... \[(\sqrt[4]{1+1} -\sqrt[4]{1}) +(\sqrt[4]{1+2} -\sqrt[4]{2}) + (\sqrt[4]{1+3} -\sqrt[4]{3})...\] 1st and 4th terms cancel, 3rd and 6th terms cancel... etc. all terms cancel but the second and last
