Robotics doesn't fit in a book. Depending on what you are trying to do with robotics you may need to learn any number of things. Classical control theory is a good building block for a lot of actuator control. Clever mechanical engineer may enable you to get around control issues. If you are doing some sort of custom construction then electronics knowledge will be need to at the very least contain magic smoke as you are hooking things up. The software side is wide open based on what sensors you are using, vision processing, fuzzy logic the list goes on and on. I would recommend that you pick some hardware (Mindstorm, BoeBot, Arduino) then figure out what you can do with that and learn how to do it. Yes there is a bit of a chicken and egg problem there.
