I have a question. When we do a hydrogen gas test, my teacher said the "popping" sound when a lit splint is placed in the test tube is a physical property - why?

also when hydrogen does react with oxygen(when the lit splint is placed in the test tube containing hydrogen) does it form hydrogen peroxide

The first quesiton is more important, the second is just for knowledge but please help me

well an explosion even if its just a pop is pretty physical, i would say!!.
However seems more like chemical property to me - the splint starts a very fast reaction between hydrogen and oxygen where a lot of energy is released very quickye , hence the popping sound.

aahh - because of the high temperature - it is generated as water vapour.
on cooling you might see some water in test tube. But it will be only a little.
