50 is not correct but "50,000/100*10%" is the right method.

No, basically by dividing 50,000 by 100 you find out what 1% is, so to find 10% you just multiply that by 10
So \[50000\div100=500\]will tell you what 1% of 50000 is.
Now you need to multiply the value of 1% by 10 to find the value of 10% \[500\times10=5000\]
