sin x=-1 or sin x=0, which one equals k pie?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sin is the y coordinate of the point in the circle of radius 1, pi not pie, is half a turn, think about it. It is counterclockwise

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im still not sure how they got kpi though? like how am i supposed to solve that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

each k is natural, so each k gives a half turnin each half turn the y coordinate is 0, so it can only be 0. (see the drawing and try to see why the sin is the y coordinate and cos the x coordinate)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry i really have no idea what your talking about

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, lets try another way. Do you agree that sin 0 =0 sin pi = 0 sin 2pi=0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you dont, see that imediatly let me know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i do see that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, for cossine is 1 instead of 0, but that doesnt matter. Now, that k that multiplies pi, is meant to be seen as {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, ...} what that is saying, is that, x=kPI, then it would be sin 0PI=? sin 1PI=? sin 2PI=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think your problem was interpreting the question, because if you see that all of those need to be 0, then your question is answered by yourself. Did you undertand what I said on the previous post?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think i figured it out, I'm pretty sure its supposed to be sin x=0 that goes with k pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, x=k pi and (sin x)=0.

thank you!
