C, 1.2 x 10^5 is 1,200,000. moving the decimal place over one place will be the correct answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well did u tried to convert 120,000 into scientific notation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@stnguyen C is not the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.2*10^5=120,000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, my mistake. Please disregard my answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AND in scientific notation decimal must be always after one non-zero digit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@OneKoi now, can u tell me which one is the answer?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

d) Just count the number of "places" after the decimal point. If you have 120,000 and you put 1.2 x 10^(?) then you count the number of positions after the decimal: so 2,0,0,0,0 = 5 digits. so 1.2x10^5
